why have u not posted the exciting and most memorable moments we shared together as castrolites. It is still vivid in my memory and especially the trip to pattaya where we all sing and drink to glory.haa--haa.But jokes apart it was indeed a great experience and probably for us it was a lifetime experience. The great learning during the 90's as how an asian nation built up its economy through tourism, manufacturing and trading keeping all south east asian nations way behind.A true world class metro with all conceivable tourist expectations of pleasure. They have excelled in all aspects of service.Be in terms of hospitality, shopping malls or other support service they have excelled for which it was the most preferred tourist destination be it private or corporate. The world class airport they have built is truly exciting. Moreover the charm and warmth of the people which makes us feel great in experiencing those unforgettable moments. However all good things do not come up without its share of social fall outs. The fragmented growth story did not able to shadow the mass poverty and uneven distribution of their new found wealth. The rapid urbanisation made the cities consume energy heavily for which they depended largely on oil.Let us end this note saying i willnever forget the excited and enriching shared experiences.

Yes, that trip was very exciting. With Pawan flipping for the girls in the GoGo bar and with Rajeev spilling the beans. It seemed as if the whole country was designed a large tourist attraction.

The Thailand that I saw in my subsequent visits was a hugely different place. Now the civic infra-structure was much better. Mono rails for local commuting, quality taxi services, the top quality serviced apartments at affordable rates. We stayed at a place that was 5 star and where a 1800 sft apartment cost only about 30,000 bahts per week.Thailand has moved much ahead in 12 years since my first visit. It is a truly world class city.

Yes, traffic is a mess but I am sure they would get over it son enough. I guess they have the will.
